Sufficient Grace
At Heartland, we believe that it’s Jesus who works in and through us, in our strengths and in our weaknesses. People affected by disability are needed in the body of Christ to make our church family complete.

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
2 Corinthians 12:9

The Sufficient Grace ministry exists to help people of all abilities participate in the life of the church as fully as possible and to encourage each person to know Jesus and to share their gifts with others.

People with disabilities and their families often face challenges that interfere with participation in Christian community. Yet, all of us need the community of Christ for faith strengthening, life encouragement, growth, and having a place to serve our Lord with the gifts given us by God.

The Sufficient Grace Ministry offers various forms of compassion and support for individuals with disabilities and their families. Anytime a person or family affected by disability arrives at Heartland and is in need of support during worship service, a worship room will be provided where there are servants of various ages ready to provide lessons and care at an appropriate level.
Every few months we have a Respite afternoon at which time families can have time for whatever they need or want to do while knowing that their loved one is safe and having an enjoyable time. Other offerings include assisting with finding a quiet and comfortable place in the sanctuary and having low stimulus areas in the case a calming place is needed.
