Student Ministry Activities
The student ministry of Heartland Community Church seeks, by God's grace, to help our students (grades 6 - 12) grow up in their relationship with Christ and to live as commissioned disciples who spread the good news of the gospel to those around us in word and deed.
Please join us for fun, fellowship, and more fun!
Graduated seniors and incoming sixth graders, please join us!

FAQ:
WHAT IS A TYPICAL NIGHT AT YOUTH GROUP LIKE?
Heartland students (6-12th grades) gather together on Wednesday nights at 7PM. Our time consists of a game or ice breaker, worship, and guys and girls small groups. We are currently looking at the Heart. You will find our group laid back, inviting, and fun. We would love to have you join us. We meet in the Student Ministry Room in the back of the Church office.
ARE JR. HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TOGETHER?
The short answer is yes. All of our students begin the time together, then break out into separate groups on a bi-weekly basis.
ARE THERE SPECIAL EVENTS OR CAMPS?
Yes! Our Student pastor and volunteers meet multiple times per year to plan events for our students including laser tag, bowling, and even service projects with one of our ministry partners. Every summer our students participate in our local missions project “Serve the City.” This project allows us to meet the needs of our neighbors and bring the gospel to them in word and deed. We also participate in a yearly summer camp with other PCA churches across Kansas.
WHO LEADS STUDENT MINISTRIES?
Our Associate Pastor, Gary Goodrich, currently leads the overall vision and direction of the student ministry. Our ministry is also served by Jane Shelden who serves as our ministry assistant and girls discipleship leader. Beyond Gary and Jane there is a great team of volunteer leaders who love and lead the students of Heartland.
HOW DO I VOLUNTEER WITH STUDENT MINISTRIES?
Volunteers are always welcome and encouraged to participate in Student Ministries! We do require that all volunteers be members of the church and have thorough background checks. To learn more about volunteering with Student Ministries, contact Gary Goodrich Gary@heartlandpca.org
